New York Fashion Week: Fall 2009 RTW… A Few Favorites!

I have been anticipating Jason Wu ever since he seemingly came out of nowhere with the dress he designed for our First Lady at the Inaugural Ball. I preferred his gauzy, filmy, soft toned pieces over his more structured suiting or dresses in royal blues and optimistic yellow. I think dresses will prove to be his thing. They are intuitively flattering, elegant, and ethereal. Here are my favorites:
My favorite looks from Alexander Wang were the futuristic, asymmetrical, and almost geometric styles he’s known for.
Charlotte Ronson scored my affections as soon as I laid eyes on this blouse. I am obsessed with the chain embellishment.
I also particularly liked this dress. Sexy, romantic, and earthy at the same time.
As for this perfection pictured below… this would be my go-to little black dress all year ’round, weather being what it is here in Los Angeles. I tend to value my clothes at cost-per-wear. Maybe I can somehow justify it? Ha! Not in this economy. Charlotte Ronson, you’re killing me.
